I am opposed to the notion of eschatological pluralism...saying that all the views are equally valid. That is nonsense. Four opposing views cannot all be right. So I do not intend to give equal time or equal space to the three views which I consider false.
I feel very strongly that false views of prophecy have crippled the church, taken it off-course from it's true purpose , caused well-meaning Christians to become blinded to God's true prophetic agenda, and have caused a wholesale blinding of the theological minds of an entire generation. I am appalled, at the so-called prophecy teachers of our day, who are everywhere cashing in, (to the tune of multiplied millions of dollars), on the inordinate craving of the ignorant masses for sheer prophetic sensationalism. They have ears itching to hear nonsense, and there is no shortage of false teachers waiting to seize upon their desires for the spectacular and the novel, because these teachers have itching wallets that are equally matched to the gullible public's desire for un-biblical nonsense. They tell the people exactly what their ears want to hear. They plunder the unsuspecting with aggressive campaigns to teach them falsehoods that line their own pockets and purses. "Late Great Planet this or that", "Left Behind here or there", there are hundreds of books teaching the latest popular heresies, and people buy them by the millions.
I see all this as part of the great "falling away" (2Thess. 2:3) of the last period of earth's history. We are in it, and it is exactly false prophecy, and false prophets, who have led the way into this current darkness. I refuse to give up the high ground. I refuse to have my light snuffed out also. I will continue to teach that the historic Christian view needs to be returned to the church. It is the view of simplicity, and not a view of convoluted prophecy charts.
If you choose to stay here, and study your Bible with an open heart and a mind, being led by the Holy Spirit, I promise to try and show you exactly what the Bible says about the dark days that we live in, and the agenda of God for the future. You will be amazed at how simple it really is. In fact, it is so simple that you will be inclined to say..."It really can't be that simple, can it?" Oh yes it can! Harold Camping's date-setting eschatology is nothing new. He's done it before and he will do it again. At should be obvious to any Christian that any man who thinks he knows more than God himself, is an idiot. This short article drives us back to the New Testament, to the foundation of the Apostles and the Prophets, and to Jesus Christ Himself who is the Chief Cornerstone, of the worlds only true religion. You can clarify your thinking, and straighten out all false doctrine, eschatological or otherwise, by simply reading the New Testament. Christ brought the light and all the truth with Him, so we need to pay attention to God who spoke from heaven to emphise who we are to listen to, and who we are to get our doctrines from.
Luke 9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. We are supposed to listen to Christ, and those whom he told us to listen to, and no one else. I know it seems simple, but that's the bottom line, and that's how the New Testament corrects all false doctrine. Try it, and you won't follow people like Camping, or listen to whackytology. Was the BP Gulf Oil Disaster a Fulfillment of Last Days Prophecies Found in The Apocalypse?
This short essay is an important one with respect to the hermeneutics of prophetic interpretation.
