The Reformed Romans Road Witnessing Tool
Many of us highfalutin Calvinists don't use the Romans Road in witnessing, because we think that only Arminians use tools like that. Well the real truth is that some of us just don't do any evangelist work at all, because we are too concerned about the deeper things! The truth is that if you do want to do some real witnessing, there is no better book to use to present the gospel to the lost than the book of Romans.
Romans deals with the real tough issues, and presents the Sovereignty and Wrath of God against sin, as no other book. That means it should be one of our favorite witnessing tools, that is if we actually pull ourselves out of our ivory towers and really do some witnessing!
Not only does Romans present the Wrath of God against sin, it also presents God's remedy for sin, in Jesus Christ like no other book does. I use the book of Romans almost exclusively in my evangelistic work, and I want to encourage you to do the same.

David is an old friend from my college years back at Baptist Bible College, and I had a small part almost 40 years ago in bringing the knowledge of the Doctrines of Grace to Him, in a school environment that was vehemently anti-Calvinistic.

The Devil wants us to think that we have abilities and powers which we do not actually have. This is a slick and dangerous tool which he uses against Christians all the time. Convince them that they have power over me, when they have none. Convince them that they have supernatural gifts, when they don't...that's a good trick to deceive them. Don't be taken in by demonically inspired false doctrines. God's principles for the 'spiritual warfare are not delusions of grandeur, which we do not posses. God's methods, actually work, and are real. Here's a different take on it.

A Cabinet of Choice Jewels Thomas Brooks 1689
Thomas brooks was one of the sweetest of the Puritan preachers. He drips and oozes with the Love of Christ. This is a compilation of choice quotes from Mr Brooks, and I love to read these things over and over again. Anyone who cannot find real devotional assistance from Thomas Brooks must be just doctrinaire or hard hearted. Brooks is the best. Spurgeon wrote a book of compilations from his writings and he called it "Smooth Stones from Ancient Brooks". I read it, and that's what got me hooked on Brooks. Every time I read this wonderful author, I find treasures and great depth of real practical wisdom. He has helped me more than any other Puritan author. I know he will help you too, especially if you want to be a humbled and devoted follower of Jesus, and not just some kind of ivory tower theologian. Brooks is golden in the way He makes the cross shine.

Need to Know Why Christians Suffer? This book explains in a masterful way.
Summary
Suffering often seems to catch us by surprise. One day we are healthy, comfortable, and happy. The next we find ourselves ill or injured, struggling, and distraught. The pain that invades our lives may come from our own suffering or that of a loved one. But no matter the source, we didn’t see it coming. All too often, our perplexity prompts us to suspect God of wrongdoing.
In this classic book, republished in a revised and expanded edition, Dr. R. C. Sproul argues that we should not be surprised by suffering; instead, we should expect pain and sorrow in this life. Some are actually called to a “vocation” of suffering, and all of us are called to undergo the ultimate suffering of death. God promises in His Word that difficult times will come upon us, but He also promises that He allows suffering for our good and His glory, and He will never give us more than we can bear with His help.

We read in Luke 4:22, "All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips." Never did such gracious and sweet words drop from the lips of any man who ever lived, as those from the lips of Christ when He was here upon the earth; and of all Christ's words, those which He spoke to His disciples in His last sermon, before His last suffering, in the 14th, 15th, and 16th chapters of John, are superlatively sweet, and none more sweet in this sermon than the words of my text read unto you, "He who loves Me shall he loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him." In the former part of the verse, we have the character of one who truly loves Christ, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves Me." The Terrible People of Terrible Times!
Christians are people of the truth, and the truth is what they must speak. The day and time for opening our lips with the truths of Gods assessment of wicked men, has come. We can no longer sit back and allow the world to define our speech for us. We are to speak what God says, and if men don't like it or approve..Tough! Don't be a flamingo with your head in the sand. This area needs immediate attention within the body of Christ. What distinguishes us from the world is our speech. Whoever said "Actions speak louder than words", must have been an unbeliever. Actions convey mixed messages only. They can be interpreted in a thousand different ways, but words speak clearly, definitively, convincingly, and are capable of delivering God's truth. How shall they hear without a preacher (Rom. 10:14)? We are to "speak the truth" (Eph. 4: 15, 25; 2Cor. 7:14). There is no substitute for" words fitly spoken" (Prov. 25:11). This short message needs to be heard.

The Suppression of The Truth
